Epistemic Contextualism
The truth conditions of 'know' vary with the context of utterance.
What it claims
Epistemic contextualism holds that 'know' is a context-sensitive expression. 'I know' can be true in one conversational context and false in another. This is not because the subject's epistemic state has changed, but because the standard demanded by the attributor's context has changed.
