Atheism
Positively judges that God does not exist.
What it claims
Atheism accepts as true the proposition that God, in particular an omnipotent and perfectly good personal God, does not exist. The state of not believing theism (weak atheism) is distinguished from the judgment that there is no God (strong atheism); it is the latter that is at issue in philosophical discussion. What it denies is the existence of a personal creator, not the reality of religious experience or of morality.
