Virtue Ethics
The fundamental question is not what to do but what kind of person to be.
What it claims
Virtue ethics takes the primary object of moral evaluation to be not the individual act but the agent's character, that is, virtue. What it denies is the premise that morality is essentially a system of rules, and the idea that moral judgment can be replaced by a procedure independent of character. The core argument is that rules do not apply themselves.
